Our school has not got a long history – only 16 years old. It was built in the outskirt of the town. We teach children from 6 to 15 years old. We have got good experiences with teaching children not only compulsory curriculum but we are trying to show them new things around their life. We are pleased to have possibility to use a grant from EU, creating a content of a project which is convenient for our teaching conditions and students. The programme makes our students more self-confidence in communication, making own decisions and learning about their roots. Because of these main things they are able to find their place in their future studying and jobs. Our school was chosen as a coordinator of this programme which joins past and our times. We believe that we do the best not only for our school but for all participate schools and find what things, events join us. We support all students not only the best ones  but there is a space for students with special needs. We will use our experiences getting via former projects in the right way for all.

Our school is situated in the neighbourhood of the old inner town and in an old housing estate which is near the historical part of Debrecen. Deriving from the features of the area and social composition of the population there are more people having a lower education. A lot of our pupils’ parents face the problem of unemployment. In the district of our school there is a hostel for mothers giving accommodation to dozens of people whose children attend our school. We have got 214 underprivileged students and there are 5 pupils with special needs (SEN) out of our 500 students. We form our teaching and educating work while taking the families’ social, financial and cultural background into consideration. We try to catch up the students living in very bad conditions during the lessons and out of school activities and at the same time we consider it very important to develop our talented, gifted students. The school is situated next to a busy road with 4 lanes. Students living in the housing estate can walk to school, students living in suburbs come by public transport or parents take them by car. At our school students regularly take part in historical walks and exhibitions of the town. They make researches, share their knowledge in competitions, quiz games and show their results in local exhibitions. We have a museum-friend study circle and other students taking part in photography help them intensively. Students interested in more details can visit the archives in our city.

Our school (Lihula School of Music and Art) opened its doors in autumn in 1986. The aim of the our collective is to be an open, friendly, clever and long-sighted centre of culture, where there are different opportunities for creative work.  Different forms of studying enable people of different age groups to take part in the work of our school. The Music and Art School of Lihula is small, in school year 2012/2013 98 students attend the school, they are aged 6 - 50.  At our music school students can learn playing several  musical instruments and get knowledge of solfeggio, rhythmic, music history, folk music and playing together. The main subjects at art school are painting, drawing, sculpture, composition and art history.  Our school is situated in West-Estland, in Lihula. This little town with its 1800 inhabitants has fascinating history. Also the landscapes in the area are unique and deserve to be protected. One third of Matsalu Nature Reserve is situated in Lihula parish. We find various inspiration sources and collaborate possibilities  (Matsalu Nature Film Festivals, Nature-motifs exhibitions etc) with this institutions.

Our school is situated  in the centre of a village called Łukowica. It is in the south of Poland, near to Cracow. Bigger cities which are located closer are Limanowa and Nowy Sącz. About 300 students from our village and nearby five attend the school. The school’s building is not very old, it was opened in 1999. In the beginning the building was small because there were not a lot of students. In order to have more students the building had to be enlarged. In our school there are 14 classrooms and all of them are equipped adequately.  Some classrooms are intended for carrying out specific subjects such as: foreign languages, computer studies, biology, chemistry, history, geography. Lessons start at 8 a.m.  and finish at 2 p.m.

In our area it is hard to find a job (huge unemployment). A lot of people have to travel abroad or to big cities to look for jobs and have to leave their families. We would like to help our students to find themselves in the situation in a local market, to support their decisions connected with the choice of further education (higher, university), further career , future profession. We want to cooperate with all partners dividing works, organise a visit, create websites etc. We also have children with special needs, healthy and social problems as well. We try to find the right way for them.

In our town live people of different nationalities: Romanians, Hungarians, Germans and other, in a small number. Because of this in our school we teach into two languages: Romanian and Hungarian. We have both Romanian classes and Hungarian classes. As a foreign language our students learn English and German.  People from our district work in different fields. We have also industrial parks where a part of our students’ parents work and the others work abroad; a little percent has no job.  Our students are willing to know and learn about other cultures, other life-styles from this big Europe.  To achieve this purpose it would be very useful for us to take part into this project with so many cultures and nationalities.

The area in which the school is located is very heterogeneous embracing various types of urban, social, cultural, economic, and commercial and anthropology contexts. Therefore, the training provided by the school is just as rich and varied, responding to the different needs of users ranging from the underclass to the low and middle bourgeoisie. The school is located in an area at risk of exclusion and petty crime. The social fabric is composed mainly of small traders, artisans and vendors walking, 40% of parents unemployed or income minimum. Pupils’ immigrants constitute 4% of the school population. The environment is affected by the crisis of values that runs through today's society, not missing phenomena such as family breakdown and job insecurity. The school pays particular attention to early identification of difficulties and hardships, social, psychomotor and sensory, in the students, working in order to reduce the disadvantages and providing support to learning processes.
